Where is the Back Button in QuickBooks?
When you surf the web, it's easy to go back to the previous page you were viewing - simply click the "back" button to get there.
You may have been searching high and low for the same functionality within QuickBooks - unfortunately, a "back" button doesn't exist in QuickBooks.
No worries though - QuickBooks has an easy way to move around to all your open windows without the hassle of closing each open window to get there . . . .
Unseen keys to higher profits.
The more your company projects 6 “core values” to employees and customers, the more loyal they will be which means higher sales and lower turnover:
1. Business and personal relationships that reflect trust. Trust reflects respect and confidence in the other person. The greater the trust, the easier it is to facilitate change quickly.
2. Integrity. This is the stuff of an excellent reputation, which increases sales and expands the customer base.
3. Openness to innovation. When someone does not want to hear new ideas, you get the message and act accordingly. So do employees and customers.
4. Workforce Improvement. Good training improves productivity. But for it to pay off, management must show an active interest in the quality of the training and in the individual being trained.
5. Teamwork. Ever worked with or just talked to someone with whom you spark ideas in one another? That chemistry can occur only when employees are encouraged to work in teams.
6. Accountability. Some people like army life because they are told what to do and measured on how well they do it. We all benefit from knowing what is expected of us and how well we are doing. In business, this means clearly describing the task (what is expected) and giving timely feedback (how well employees are doing).

QuickBooks Running Slow?
Part 2
Many computers I have seen during my QuickBooks consulting engagements simply have not been configured for optimum efficiency nor built with sufficient memory installed.
For a very modest cash outlay, you could double or even triple the amount of memory your desktop or laptop computers are using. Today's programs (and QuickBooks is no exception) love memory. The more, the merrier!
Tax help for going green!
Here’s how a company can use the tax code to help the environment:
1. Companies purchasing hybrids may qualify for a credit of $250 - $3,400, depending on fuel efficiency.
Caution: the credit disappears after the sale of 60,000 qualifying vehicles (which may not have occurred yet in 2009, given the poor economy).
2. A company’s commercial building may be eligible for deductions by achieving a 50% energy reduction for the type of building or reducing energy costs at least 16.66% for a partial deduction. The formula: Deduction = $1.80/sq. ft. – previous deductions taken. Partial deduction: $0.60/sq. ft.
3. Costs for certain environmental clean-up can be expensed (instead of capitalized) if paid or incurred before January 1, 2010.
4. Encourage employees to use mass transit by offering monthly passes of up to $230 a month pretax as a fringe benefit.
5. Offer a company “commuter highway vehicle” for employees to commute to work as a tax-free benefit of up to $230 a month per employee. To qualify, the vehicle must seat at least 6 adults plus a driver; 80% of the mileage must be used to transport employees, and at least half the seating capacity must be occupied during the trips.
6. You can give employees $20 a month pretax to ride bikes to work and stay in shape (reducing health insurance costs over the long run).
7. Consider having some employees telecommute full or part-time. Employees who can show that they are working from home for the employer’s convenience may be eligible for the home office deduction, cutting their taxes and reducing the company’s need for office space.
