SUI and ETT must be done manually!
QuickBooks cannot update state unemployment rates for you because SUI rates are usually unique to each employer. Many state agencies send employers new rate notices by the end of December. With the latest release of QuickBooks 2010, you can update your SUI rate as soon as you receive a rate notice from the state agency!
Payroll at Year End
If you report on the accrual basis, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) require you to record all your expenses in the time frame it is incurred. This means that you should be accruing payroll expenses for the remaining days worked in December AND it just might mean deferring pay received into 2010!!
