Sage MAS 90 and 200 version 4.4 ETA early February 2010
Sage MAS 90 and 200 version 4.4 is on target to begin shipping early February 2010, and will deliver on many customer-requested enhancements. These enhancements will provide something for everyone -- customers will work even more efficiently the way they want to, with new features and enhancements focused on workflow and business processes, especially in the inventory, purchase order, bill of materials, and bar code areas of the system.
Upgrading - Enhancements in version 4.4 will provide more freedom and control over the upgrade process. Parallel Migration will allow customers to continue operating their business on their existing Sage MAS 90 or 200 system while the new 4.4 system is getting prepared and tested, minimizing downtime and reducing the risk of transitioning from test to live.
Expanded fields - Customer and Item Number fields will be expanded in 4.4, with 20 alphanumeric characters available to be used for Customer numbers, adding information such as the city or phone number to improve accuracy of identifying customers. Item numbers will be able to be expanded to 30 alphanumeric characters, which will improve productivity and business workflow through smart part numbers such as UPC or recycling codes, a vendor number, and more.
Customization - Using additional Custom Office tools we will provide in 4.4, the customizations will survive future upgrades. Two examples of the types of enhancements that can be added are: the ability to add expiration dates or other attributes to lot and serial items, with the dates flowing through the system; and using simple Customizer scripting, a Sales Order Quote will add 90 days to today’s date and use the calculated date as the Quote Expiration date.
Inventory Counts: Additional features will streamline the workflow to enable a more efficient physical count process, including the ability to print the Quantity On Hand on the physical count worksheet, so as warehouse managers supervise the process, they will be aware of the expected count.
