QuickBooks Payroll Updates
SUI and ETT must be done manually!
Remember to update your 2010 state unemployment insurance (SUI) rate in QuickBooks.
QuickBooks cannot update state unemployment rates for you because SUI rates are usually unique to each employer. Many state agencies send employers new rate notices by the end of December. With the latest release of QuickBooks 2010, you can update your SUI rate as soon as you receive a rate notice from the state agency.
Some state agencies send new rate notices at various times during the first quarter. If you have not received your updated rate yet, please continue to process your payroll with the current rate. When you receive your new rate, please update it in QuickBooks, and QuickBooks will automatically adjust your first quarter tax liabilities based on the new rate.
If your employee(s) works in a state that has state disability insurance (SDI), you may also need to update the SDI rate(s) in QuickBooks on or after January 1, 2010.
As always, if you need help or want more information about htis process, please call 760-722-6839 or visit us online at http://tinyurl.com/ybg6fy2 and enter "SUI" in the Additional Comments box and we will contact you.
