Why you need to budget in a management plan for your website
In the past, SonicSpider has encouraged our clients to maintain their websites. We have "built-in" maintenance in all of our hosting plans to support this. However, we find most of our clients fail to contact us about updating and improving their websites. These websites slowly fall into disrepair and no longer serve their purpose.
In 2008 SonicSpider is moving away from website maintenance to website management. The difference is that we want to play a more active role in working with our clients to keep their websites up-to-date and accomplishing business goals.
Maybe you are not convinced that you need a management plan, let alone a maintenance plan. The truth is, every website owner should budget in website management. Without a resonable plan that fits your needs and budget, it is not even worth having a website to begin with. Your website should be looked at a minimum of 4 times a year to consider updates and improvements. The key to the management plan is that SonicSpider will be responsible for calling the client to discuss updates, then scheduling them to make sure that they happen.
What kind of things can be accomplished by a management plan:
- Quarterly marketing themes - If you have a new marketing theme every quarter, your home page on your website should reflect that.
- SEO - there is so much more that you can be doing. From reviewing keywords, cross industry research, and website analytics, SonicSpider can help you move forward and gain more website traffic
- Email Marketing - Every business should have a quarterly newsletter, or a way to professionally contact their clients every quarter. Your website should play a central role in this.

- Enhancements - maybe it is time to take another step with your website. You may need a fresher look, an extra pay, or one of our web tools to make your website more effective in your business.
