How to Attach PDFs to a Blog Article

Attaching PDFs to a blog article is almost exactly like adding an image to your article. Just different dialog windows but the process is very much the same.

You can attach a PDF to a new article or an existing one.

  1. Place your cursor in the article at the location you want the link.
  2. Click the "Link" icon (world with a chain link) and open the "Link" dialog.
  3. Set "Link Type" to URL
  4. Click "Browse Server". This will open the "Resource Browser" dialog window.
  5. At the bottom of the "Resources Browser" window click "Browse..." and locate your file you want to attach. Highlight the file and click "OK" or "OPEN" (depends on your operating system).
  6. Click "Upload" in the lower right corner of the "Resource Browser" dialog.
  7. You will now see the file in the main browser list.
  8. Click the file and it will be added to the URL input on the original "Link"  dialog.
  9. Now click "OK" and the link will be place at the location of your cursor.

Your link should now look like this:

www.sonicweblog.com/pebble/UserFiles/File/main/ClearCache.pdf

If you are familiar with HTML you can edit this like by clicking "Source" and fixing the link so it hides the full path. It can look like this:

ClearCache Document

Generally it is best to leave the full path. This is because the readers of your article want to trust that they know what they are uploading and where it is coming from. The full path assures the reader of that information.
