How can I update my website once it is built?
There are several ways you can keep your website up-to-date:
1) Upgrade to SonicSpider's Custom Hosting and Maintenance program, which allows you to update your website through SonicSpider at a reduced cost.
2) Use SonicSpider’s HotSpot Content Management System. This system flags parts of your website that you would want to update regularly. It allows you to update the parts of your website that are most critical to keep the interest of your visitors, such as:
- Recent News
- Tip of the Month
- Upcoming Events
- Featured Product/ Product Review
- Featured Article
3) Use our blog technology as a back end to your website. Our blog software, although commonly used as online PR or Resource centers for businesses, can also be used as a content manager. This technology would be used instead of the HotSpot tool if you had more areas you wanted to update yourself.
4) You can always attempt to update your website yourself. We strongly advise against this, since it takes a professional to really know how to update a website properly, and you could end up breaking things if you do it yourself. You could spend more money getting your site fixed than you did in your initial investment. But if you feel confident in your HTML abilities or know someone who can handle this task, we provide RightStart Hosting as a simple way to access and manage your website files. (Important: Once you edit your website files, SonicSpider no longer can guarantee that it will pass the W3C standards.)
All websites produced by SonicSpider are W3C certified and pass the first level of accessibility, so our websites can be hosted anywhere and can be worked on by any trained web developer.
